3. Service Terms

3.1 Service Authorization

Services commence only after written authorization from the client following receipt of our detailed condition assessment and service estimate. Estimates remain valid for 30 days from issuance date.

3.2 Service Timelines

Timeline estimates represent our professional assessment based on typical circumstances. Actual completion dates may vary due to parts availability, unexpected conditions discovered during service, or circumstances beyond our control. We provide regular status updates throughout the service process.

3.3 Additional Work

If service reveals conditions requiring additional work beyond the original estimate, we contact the client for approval before proceeding. Emergency situations affecting timepiece safety may require immediate intervention with subsequent client notification.

4. Client Responsibilities

  • Accurate Information: Provide complete and accurate information about timepiece history, previous repairs, and observed problems
  • Ownership Verification: Represent and warrant legal ownership or authorization to service the timepiece
  • Declared Value: Declare accurate timepiece value for insurance purposes
  • Timely Response: Respond to communications regarding service authorization and timeline changes within reasonable timeframes
  • Payment: Pay invoices according to agreed payment terms

5. Payment Terms

5.1 Service Fees

Service fees include labor, parts, materials, and testing as specified in written estimates. Prices are in Canadian dollars and exclude applicable taxes.

5.2 Payment Schedule

Payment is due upon service completion before timepiece release. We accept major credit cards, bank transfers, and certified cheques. Payment plans may be arranged for services exceeding $2,000 CAD.

5.3 Late Payment

Accounts unpaid 30 days after invoice date may incur interest at the rate of 2% per month. Timepieces remain in our custody until full payment is received.

6. Warranty

6.1 Coverage

Completed service work includes a 12-month warranty covering:

  • Workmanship quality and technical execution
  • Replacement parts installed during service
  • Timekeeping accuracy within manufacturer specifications
  • Water resistance to stated ratings after pressure testing
  • Proper function of serviced complications

6.2 Exclusions

Warranty does not cover:

  • Damage from impacts, drops, or accidents
  • Magnetic exposure affecting mechanical function
  • Unauthorized repairs or modifications by third parties
  • Normal wear of leather straps or external finish
  • Crystal scratching or cosmetic case wear
  • Water damage when seals are compromised

6.3 Warranty Service

Warranty claims require presentation of original service documentation. Warranty service receives priority scheduling and typically completes within one week.

7. Limitation of Liability

crownwyt liability for any service-related claims is limited to the lesser of:

  • The actual cost of service fees paid
  • The declared value of the timepiece
  • Our insurance coverage limit

We are not liable for:

  • Consequential, indirect, or incidental damages
  • Lost profits or business opportunities
  • Emotional distress or sentimental value
  • Delays caused by parts availability or circumstances beyond our control

8. Disclaimers

8.1 Service Outcomes

While we employ best practices and professional expertise, we cannot guarantee specific restoration outcomes or that all original components can be preserved. Vintage timepiece service may require replacement of components no longer available in original form.

8.2 External Factors

Timepiece condition may be affected by factors beyond our control, including previous unauthorized repairs, manufacturing defects, or environmental exposure prior to our service.

8.3 Parts Availability

Genuine manufacturer parts availability depends on supplier stock and production status. Discontinued components may require custom fabrication or alternative sourcing solutions.

9. Insurance and Security

We maintain comprehensive insurance coverage for timepieces in our care. Coverage is based on your declared valuation at service initiation. For accurate insurance protection, clients should provide realistic market values.

Our facility employs 24-hour surveillance monitoring, restricted access protocols, and secure storage systems. High-value pieces receive individual safe storage between service procedures.

10. Abandoned Property

Timepieces not collected within 90 days of service completion notification are considered abandoned. We will attempt contact at 30, 60, and 90 days. After 90 days, we may:

  • Apply storage fees of $25 CAD per month
  • Exercise legal remedies for unpaid balances
  • Dispose of property according to applicable law after 180 days

11. Intellectual Property

All content on our website, including text, images, logos, and technical documentation, remains the property of crownwyt. Reproduction, distribution, or commercial use without written permission is prohibited.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada. Any disputes arising from these terms or our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario.

In the event of disputes, parties agree to attempt resolution through good faith negotiation before pursuing legal action. Mediation through a mutually agreed mediator may be pursued before litigation.

13. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated through our website or direct notification to active clients. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of modified terms.

14. Severability

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms of Service will otherwise remain in full force and effect.
